Youth Services

Overview

The MEC partners with the Marin County Office of Education (MCOE) in providing employment services to youth both in school youth. For more information call the Marin County Office of Education at 415.499.5865.

Employment and training services are available to Marin County youth ages 14 to 21 who are low income, disabled, in foster care, pregnant or parenting, on public assistance, in the Juvenile Justice system, behind in school or needing further assistance to obtain employment. Marin youth can get help to remain in school or return to school, learn how to get jobs, keep jobs and progress in their careers. Services provided to eligible youth include:

  • Tutoring, study skills training and instruction
  • Alternative education
  • Summer employment when linked to academic and occupational learning
  • Paid and unpaid work experience
  • Occupational skills training
  • Leadership development
  • Supportive services
  • Adult mentoring
  • Follow-up services
  • Comprehensive guidance and counseling
