The Workforce Investment Board is pleased to announce the awarding of two WIA ARRA funded contracts for the provision of computer lab services to clients of the Marin Employment Connection.  The two agencies, Marin County Office of Education Regional Occupational Program and the Tamalpais Adult & Community Education (TAM), are both partner agencies in the MEC.

The Marin County Office of Education will receive $30,748 to support MEC clients by increasing their hours of operation for their Regional Occupational Program’s Business Office Technology course which had been recently scaled back due to budget cuts.

The Tamalpais Adult & Community Education will receive $11,250 to provide MEC clients with basic computer skills by providing an instructor on site at the MEC on Monday afternoons, Tuesday mornings and all day on Thursdays.

These contracts will allow the MEC to enhance its core service offerings while leveraging the resources of our education partners.
